Our Story Begins with the Acquisition of a Renaissance Spinning Wheel Dating from XVII Century

After the 50s, the founder of the company, José Ramón García Requejo finds a Renaissance spinning wheel in an antique shop. Despite his young age, José Ramón decides to buy the historical piece, turning it into a lamp and creating a series of replicas.

The demand for this first product, leads him to start the production of his first collections of lamps and furniture. García Requejo becomes one of the best-known brands in the field of classic furniture in Spain. So much so that the company is selected to represent Spain at the international fair of Frankfurt in 1969.

Throughout the 70s, the stands of García Requejo revolutionize the decoration fairs in Spain, becoming the first exhibitor that creates rooms in the stand itself. Until that time, furniture brands exposed their raw products without decorations.

The 80s marks the entry of García Requejo in the sector of contract and lighting. The first contract project of the company is the decoration of 70 rooms of the most emblematic hotel in the city of San Sebastian: The Queen María Cristina hotel. This first project is the starting point to 5 decades of experience, decorating and lighting hotels all around the world.
